Learn to Fly Fish (For Trout) 2007
About 60 new fly anglers attended the Learn to Fly Fish classes jointly
sponsored by New Hampshire Fish and Game department and Trout Unlimited.
Classes were held at the Amoskeag Fishway in Manchester, the Nashua Public
Library and the Pelham Fish and Game Club. The classes were conducted
by Stan Jodziewicz and Gerry Crow, New Hampshire Fish and Game department
Aquatic Education Instructors and assisted by Jim Norton and Tom Jutras,
certified FFF casting instructor. All instructors are active members
of the Merrimack River Valley chapter Trout Unlimited. Classes were
conducted in five modules spread over 10 hours. Topics included
equipment selection, important fishing knots, aquatic insect identification,
NH Fishing locations, safety and ethics, aquatic ecology, fishing techniques
and strategies and on-the-water casting instruction. Classes are
free of charge and open to beginners and intermediates of all ages.
